Resumo: Masterclass no Convento da Arrábida com Kenneth Ginsburg (inscrições limitadas a 30 participantes) Kenneth Ginsburg irá conduzir-nos durante dois dias através do program da AAP ' Reaching Teens: Strength-based, Trauma-sensitive, Resilience-building Communication Strategies Rooted in Positive Development'. The Reaching Teens Masterclass is about supporting youth serving professionals to be the kind of adults young people deserve in their lives. We will cover the three foundational frameworks that prepare us to develop young people capable of thriving through good and difficult times – positive youth development, resilience, and trauma-sensitive care. The proven effects of childhood trauma and adverse childhood experiences on the brain, body, and behavior throughout the lifetime, will be discussed. This Masterclass will include didactic content, discussion time, practice opportunities, and brainstorming time to determine how to best use the content presented and toolkit offered. Therefore, flexibility is key.
Programa:
- June 20 - 5 pm - Welcoming Evening Participants will get to know each other with a focus on the disciplines they represent and what they hope to bring home from the seminar. 6 pm - Introductory Talks: - The power of relationships. - Being pro-development: shifting the cultural narrative on adolescents A brief Introduction will be offered of 'Reaching Teens' toolkit
- June 21 - The three Foundational Frameworks: Positive youth development, resilience, and trauma - Adolescent neuroscience for communicators - Strength-based Communication 101 Practice: - Behavioral Change: Guiding adolescents in healthy decision making and in building resilience - Effective Parenting: Discussion on how these parenting styles and recommended shifts apply to Portuguese culture A deeper dive into the toolkit “Reaching Teens”
- June 22 Talk: Integrating Self-Care with Our Real Lives Discussion: How can we transform our understanding of boundaries, so they are focused on healthy relationships rather than barriers to engagement? Brainstorming - How can we build upon our existing networks to transform how adolescents are served in Portugal? What are the barriers to this process, and how can they be overcome? - How do we build upon the foundation that the toolkit “Reaching Teens” offers, while ensuring it meets our needs in Portugal? - What processes can we create to draw from what applies to us while using it as a foundation where we can add content for our cultural contexts? Closing Session - How do we move forward building on our existing network and the foundation that has been laid over the years? - How can this group of healers continue to work together across disciplines? - How do we engage others to join our movement?
